Our honey is sourced from trusted American beekeepers and apiaries throughout the country, bringing together unique harvests from different regions, flowers, seasons, and landscapes. Every jar tells part of a much larger American story.

What We Mean by “Local Honey”

Heroes Honey does not have to come from a hive down the street from your home to be real, raw, American honey.

When we talk about local honey, we mean honey connected directly to American beekeepers and the communities where it was produced not anonymous, heavily processed honey traveling through a complicated global supply chain.

Depending on the harvest, your Heroes Honey may come from Texas wildflowers, clover fields in the Midwest, Southern forests, yaupon, tallow, sourwood, or other distinctly American nectar sources.

It is local to the beekeeper, local to the apiary, and local to the American community that produced it.

Local Heroes Honey is kept as close to the hive as possible.

Real raw honey naturally contains the flavors, aromas, trace nutrients, enzymes, pollen, and antioxidant compounds created through the relationship between bees and the plants they visit. Because raw honey is minimally processed, its flavor and appearance can naturally vary from harvest to harvest.

That is not a defect.

Color may range from light gold to deep amber. Flavor can change with geography and season. Crystallization may occur naturally over time and is one of the characteristics commonly found in genuine honey.
